Michael Jackson’s son Prince is giving back to the community, and we think his dad would be so proud of him
Even though their dad tried hard to keep them out of the spotlight, the Jackson kids are at an age where the decision is totally up to them. And while we’ve heard a lot from Paris Jackson, Prince Jackson is making news for helping his community. If that’s not the best way to use the family name, we don’t know what is!
First, a little refresher on Prince — as the first son and overall eldest child of Michael Jackson, he was only 12 when his father passed away. Also known as “Prince Michael,” he typically just goes by “Prince” these days. While the tragedy occurred while he was young, he still has many fond memories of his musician dad, and has penned more than a few loving tributes to him since.
But, according to Prince himself, he didn’t inherit any of his father’s singing or dancing skills.
"Music is a big part of my life," he said in an interview with LA Times. "It shaped who I am because of my family, but I’ve always wanted to go into production. My dad would ask me what I wanted to do and my answer was always producing and directing."
And, as it turns out, Prince is also pretty interested in philanthropy.
While he is definitely producing today, he’s also putting together pretty cool events that Michael would be so proud of. For example, this Christmas, he hosted a holiday party for children with the Boys & Girls Club of the Los Angeles Harbor. Not only was Santa there, but plenty of Disney characters were in attendance.
And, even sweeter? Prince credits his Dad for the idea.

"I think it's because when I was younger, my Dad always told me about how Disney was such a happy place," he said to Entertainment Tonight. "It's good to know that I'm doing that for the kids."
His organization, Heal LA, also worked with the San Pedro Boys & Girls Club in mid-December. Have we mentioned that he assembled all of this at the ripe old age of 19? Prince Jackson is still technically a teen, but truly knows the meaning of hard, rewarding work.
Our Christmas event was amazing! The kids and teens had a great time! We hope we made a true difference to all the club members! #HEALLA pic.twitter.com/qUBX9CcDVI

We’re so happy that Prince not only seems happy, but he seems to really know the important aspects of life. He’s definitely well-rounded, and truly in-tune with his community. Michael Jackson couldn’t have asked for a better son.
