Michael Bolton debuted a “sexy” Groundhog Day song with Stephen Colbert, and yes, you read that right
We’ve got songs for Christmas, but for the most part — besides Halloween, possibly — most holidays don’t get a lot of music. That’s why we’re loving the fact that Michael Bolton created a “sexy” Groundhog Day song last night on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Even better, Colbert helped him sing it.
We knew that Bolton had a sharp sense of humor after appearing in The Lonely Island’s video for “Jack Sparrow” — but we never guessed he’d take it this far.
Bolton personally views Groundhog Day as a sexy holiday. And, well, we can’t blame him. Especially after hearing this ballad, which is surprisingly well put together.
You might not want to blast this one at work, unless you have headphones on. Your coworkers might have a lot of questions.

While the song wraps up in under two minutes, we really do think that this sensual little tune has a ton of potential. Maybe with a few lyric changes, it could even be radio-ready by next year.
As you probably know, Groundhog Day was yesterday. And if you believe that a groundhog can predict these things, we’ve got six more weeks of winter based on Punxsutawney Phil seeing his shadow. But, have no fear. He’s not right very often. (We love him no matter what.)
We’re just so thrilled that next year, we can marathon Bill Murray’s legendary film Groundhog Day while simultaneously listening to this Michael Bolton jam, and truly feel like we’re celebrating the best way we can.
