Michael B. Jordan is about to remake this classic movie

Our movie-loving hearts are exploding into popcorn with the news that Michael B. Jordan will soon be starring in MGM’s remake of The Thomas Crown Affair. We first fell in love with Jordan when he starred in Friday Night Lights (go East Dillon Lions!) and Parenthood. Most recently, he wowed us in Creed. He’s got some amazing range. He can box, throw a football and even spontaneously combust (because yeah, he’s also the Human Torch in the latest Fantastic Four movie), so we’re thinking he can totally pull off playing a sophisticated businessman who steals art on the side.

The Thomas Crown Affair has already been made twice. First in 1968, starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. (And yes, it was as classically awesome as it sounds.) Then in 1999, Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo starred in the first remake, in which they jetted off to a private island, steamed up the screen in one of the sultriest dance numbers in cinematic history, all the while playing a high stakes game of cat and mouse. It was epic and looked a little something like this:

Do we want to see Michael B. Jordan do all of those things?

Yes. Yes, we do. We’re so down.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is in the very early stages of development and doesn’t even have a writer or director yet. Get on it, MGM. We can’t wait!
