A girl took a cardboard cutout of Michael B. Jordan to prom, putting all your IRL dates to shame

Inviting someone to a formal dance is a tough, treacherous path to travel, and it is nerve-wracking as hell. What happens if they say no? What happens if they agree to go with you because they missed out on their chance to go with someone else? What happens if they do that teen movie cliché and stand you up? Honestly, the horror. However, there is a way to go to the prom, take a date, and get out of the whole asking-someone-to-prom thing. Why, just take a cardboard cutout of Michael B. Jordan instead.

Yes, if we’re looking to nominate someone as the next president of the United States for their sheer brilliance, say hello to Audeva, from the St. Hubert’s Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia. As she wrote on Twitter, she waited too long to secure a date for prom and, realizing that time was of the essence, decided to make one herself. Ahem, make herself a sexy AF date, that is.

With the help of some cardboard and a giant picture of Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan, Audeva soon found herself with a prom date. Let’s be real, this cardboard cutout of Michael B. Jordan is the perfect prom date. And let’s be even more real, this cardboard cutout is hands down the best prom date for the 2018 season.

Talking to Teen Vogue, she explained that her decision to make, and take, a cardboard cutout of Michael B. Jordan was a no-brainer. “I asked my friend Tyler but he couldn’t come because [of] college stuff. My other friend Dillon was going with someone else and everyone else said no because ‘why would I go to an all-girl school prom?’ So I decided, ‘let me make a cardboard cutout.’”

Judging from the response she’s received on Twitter, many are suddenly finding themselves upset they didn’t think to take a cardboard cutout of Michael B. Jordan to prom.

Audeva is, rightfully so, angling to now meet the IRL Michael B. Jordan and she needs to meet Michael B. Jordan because we deserve some goodness and light in the world. Or maybe Michael B. Jordan will take a cardboard cutout of Audeva to the Avengers: Infinity War premiere? Just a thought.

Also, dying to see the formal prom pictures, so please share those, Audeva. We all deserve nice things.
