After the Met Gala, a goth Lily Collins ditched the bottom half of her gown
Last night’s Met Gala was a feast for the eyes. There were looks, and there were LOOKS. And all were in honor of Rei Kawakubo and her label Comme des Garçons, which is all about loud and bold silhouettes. Rei typically sticks to a color palette of black and red, and if there was one celebrity who nailed the neo-goth look of the brand, it was Lily Collins.
The actress and model looked like a macabre cupcake at the Met Gala, but what we really love is her after-party outfit. Lily Collins slayed in an all-black look by removing the bottom of her Giambattista Valli ball gown in the coolest transformation of the night.
Lily wore high-waisted black leggings, a black corset top, and some Charlotte Olympia peep-toe platform shoes, and she looked absolutely amazing. We love the silky corset top and the jeweled hem on it. Paired with a furry black coat, this outfit is making us wish for colder months so we can try out this combination.
Lily’s black wig really pulls everything together, completing her deep purple lip and classic fierce eyebrow look.
This makeup! Those eyelashes! That deep, plum Lancôme lip! The best part of this look is that although it’s red carpet-ready, it’s also totally wearable. Leggings with a furry coat and a bodysuit or corset? Yes, please! Even better when you pair it with a statement lip and some luxurious lashes.
Thanks for the inspiration, Lily!
