Mermaids celebrate Earth Day because it’s their planet, too
Ahoy, humans!
This week, we present the Earth Mermaid! (Because it’s their planet, too!)
Since 1970, Earth Day has been used to raise awareness about all the issues our planet is facing. We think it’s important to be a part of the message this day brings, since it’s a day for all species to celebrate the place we call home!
And here is some advice a human called Nathaniel Weston (associate professor of environmental science at Villanova University) wants to spread, when it comes to being a part of this day:
"There are two simple ways to celebrate Earth Day to make the world a little better, the first is to promote understanding of important environmental issues so that more people are aware of the critical actions we need to take to protect our environment. The second is to commit yourself to service on or around Earth Day — plant some trees, clean up a stream or help your local community garden."
A great idea would be to help clean a beach! (That way mermaids could visit more often.)
