Men actually ARE intimidated by *this* kind of woman, study suggests

When it comes to dating, how often do we wish we could jump inside someone else’s head? When it comes to figuring out what our potential lover is attracted to, it can feel like we’re jumping through proverbial hoops. A recent study suggests that there is one thing men are not attracted to, and frankly, it’s pretty damn frustrating. A recent study from the Warsaw School of Economics, located in Poland, suggests that men are intimidated by clever women.

Yeah, that’s right: Study findings suggest that after a woman reaches a certain level of “clever” or “smart” behavior, there is no longer a positive correlation on how attractive her potential partner finds her.

To gather this data, researchers had 500 people participate in speed-dating activities where they rated the physical attractiveness and intelligence of the people they were meeting. Every few minutes, they’d be matched with a new “date” and then asked if they would want to meet that person again. Sadly, there is a clear spot in the data where men stop valuing women’s intelligence.

Basically, this science suggests that men want smart and clever women, but only up until a point. Which, as we know, is totally ridiculous.

As a note on the study, it’s important to point out that this research dealt with opposite-sex pairings and the sexual orientation of participants was not explored. Hopefully as we have more data on related subjects, we can better understand how our potential dates are viewing us — and until then, remember everybody: Your intelligence is your greatest asset. Find someone who appreciates you for both your beauty and your brains.
