Melissa McCarthy had the greatest reponse to sexist “Ghostbusters” critics

It’s no secret that the all-female Ghostbusters reboot has been on the receiving end of a lot of criticism, and unfortunately, a good portion of it seems to be coming from a place of sexism. However, when you try to throw your sexism at Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon, they’re gonna clap back hard, and shut you down like they did Wednesday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

“A lot of these guys…” Jimmy began, referring to people on the internet who have been loudly and relentlessly disparaging the film.

“Terrific fellas!” Melissa jokingly interjected.

“Who seem to have, I don’t know, very empty lives,” Jimmy continued, “are upset because they say, ‘Oh, we can’t have female Ghostbusters, because only men can fight imaginary ghosts in a make-believe movie.’”

The audience quickly broke out in a loud chorus of boos, just like we do every time we see one of these comments.

“What they don’t say when they’re typing is that one minute after they type that their mom’s like, ‘Get upstairs and take out the garbage!’” Melissa joked, putting the haters in their place. “‘You’re 45 years old!’”

Basically, this girl gang is gonna do what they want, and continue slaying regardless of comments on the internet. The movie is going to be amazing when it hits theaters July 15th, and we’re sure that people like us will get the last laugh (and laugh and laugh and laugh).
