Mel B says there’s officially going to be a Spice Girls reunion — for real this time
The Spice Girls are apparently reuniting to spice up our lives — and it seems for real this time. While rumors of a Spice Girls reunion admittedly make the rounds every few months, Mel B has confirmed to Hoda Kotb that this time the rumors are, in fact, true.
On June 27th, the America’s Got Talent judge stopped by Today, and after reminiscing about her days with the ’90s girl group, she revealed that the ladies are reuniting. She said, “I’m the only one that keeps on saying, ‘We’re gonna be performing,’ which we are gonna be performing. Finally they got it together.”
Reports of a reunion tour gained traction back in February, after the five reunited with their former manager Simon Fuller. Victoria Beckham later quashed the rumors, telling Vogue that neither she nor her fellow Spice Girls were going on tour. When Kotb referenced Beckham’s comments to Vogue, Mel B said, “She’s always saying that. Stop it. We are touring. Should I have really said that out loud? Yes, we are going to be doing performances together for sure.”
While this is definitely big news, we’re also retaining a healthy amount of skepticism. Back in February, Mel B implied that the group would be reuniting at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding during an appearance on The Real. The group didn’t end up performing (only Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, and Beckham were in attendance), and Mel C later revealed on an Australian radio show that the ladies hadn’t actually been asked to perform.
So are the rumors true, or is Mel B just telling us what we want, what we really really want to hear?

While incessant rumors of a Spice Girls reunion has left us forever skeptical of it actually coming to fruition, if the rumors are true this time, we’ll be there.
