Meghan Markle’s TV dad just gave Prince Harry his blessing, and aww
When Clarence House announced Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement, the royal residence’s statement said the prince “sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents.” It left out whether Harry ran his plans by Meghan’s fictional family, but no worries: Wendell Pierce, who plays Meghan Markle’s dad on Suits, is totally on board. And it sounds like the rest of the Suits cast members are just as psyched as we are about the news.
Pierce — aka Suits‘ Robert Zane — tweeted his congrats to his newly engaged costar on Monday.
He wrote, “Harry you have her TV Father’s blessing. Robert Zane approves.” He later tweeted his own glowing words about his “graceful” and “wonderful” television daughter.
Congratulations to my TV daughter Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on the news of their wedding engagement. Harry you have her TV Father’s blessing. Robert Zane approves @Suits_USA

Markle’s real-life parents are also thrilled.
In a joint statement issued through Clarence House, Doria Ragland and Thomas Markle said:
"We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together."
Patrick J. Adams, who plays Rachel Zane’s (Markle) fiancé Mike Ross on Suits, had maybe our favorite reaction to the engagement.
He posted an in-character tweet expressing his confusion about the whole thing. (We get it, Mike).

Earlier this month, news that Markle will reportedly leave the USA drama after the show’s seventh season started more rumors about whether that meant a royal engagement was on the horizon. Adams will reportedly leave the show as well. But clearly, he and the rest of the cast have nothing but love for their soon-to-be-royal colleague.
Suits creator Aaron Korsh sent his well wishes via Twitter as well, saying he wished Markle and her prince “a lifetime of happiness.”
Congratulations to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on their engagement. Wonderful news, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness. Love, Aaron

We couldn’t agree more.
