Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding photographer has never worked a wedding before, and #risky
More information was just revealed about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s upcoming wedding, and it’s…surprising. You’d assume that the biggest wedding of the year (slash the decade?) would hire only the most experienced people for each and every nook and cranny. But the couple has officially chosen Alexi Lubomirski as their wedding photographer, and he’s apparently never shot a wedding before.
Not only is this huge for Lubomirski (since if you’re going to shoot a wedding, this is like, the best one ever) but it’s yet another way that Markle and Harry are thinking outside the box and breaking with royal tradition. However, Lubomirski, who mostly does fashion and celebrity shoots, shot their engagement portraits, and it seems like he made an impression on the couple.
The news was made official through the Kensington Palace Twitter account this morning, which stated that Lubomirski would take the “official photographs at Windsor Castle following their wedding at St George’s Chapel on 19th May.”

Kensington Palace also shared some of the past photos Lubomirski has taken of the couple, and we can totally see why they decided to choose him to capture their special day. Look at how beautifully he captured their love in the above shots.
Lubomirski commented that the engagement shoot was one of his favorites, because it was just so easy to work with Markle and Harry.
"It was one of the easiest, most joyful jobs because they were so deliciously in love," he said, according to E! News.
The decision seems to have only just been made, since E! News reported that as of Sunday night, April 8th, Lubomirski had no idea who’d shoot the wedding, saying it would probably be “some society photographer who’s done it before.”
It may be slightly risky to hire someone who’s never shot a wedding before, but we love the fact that the couple went with their gut. They obviously had amazing chemistry with Lubomirski, which is so important when making such a big decision. We also have a feeling that Lubomirski will capture the day in a fresh and original way.
Is it May 19th yet?
