Meghan Markle posted a perfect tweet in response to all the backlash she’s faced for dating Prince Harry
If you are dating an English prince, you open yourself up to public opinion. Meghan Markle just posted a perfect response to all the negative tabloid attention she got recently. While most people would lash out, Meghan made it all about love.
Before she started dating Prince Harry, Meghan was known for her role on the TV series Suits.Officially, the two have been going out since November. Unofficially, they’ve been dating quite a bit longer than that.
Due to all of the negative backlash, Kensington Palace even issued a statement on November 8th — and it’s so romantic it totally had us swooning:

A lot of the criticism has been racist. Meghan’s mom is black and her dad is white, and Meghan identifies as mixed race. Some people think this means that Meghan isn’t the “royal type.” Well, good riddance! Rather than focusing on her heritage, we should be happy for the two lovebirds. Especially when it’s 2016, people. It’s pretty shameful that they had to even address the situation at all. Luckily, Meghan’s response was perfect. false
Seems like the couple is above all the hate. Love is bigger than skin color, nationality, or social rank. Love is love!
Their attitude is even more impressive once you learn the details of tabloid harassment. According to the Kensington Palace statement:
"Nightly legal battles to keep defamatory stories out of papers; her mother having to struggle past photographers in order to get to her front door; the attempts of reporters and photographers to gain illegal entry to her home and the calls to police that followed; the substantial bribes offered by papers to her ex-boyfriend; the bombardment of nearly every friend, co-worker, and loved one in her life."
No one should have to deal with that. Especially not a brand new couple. Hopefully, the two can live their lives more privately now.
