Meg Ryan is coming to TV, and her show sounds like a Paris dream

Living in a new era of incredible television is great, because SO many awesome talents have been jumping into the TV game. The latest star to sign on for a series starred in some of our favorite rom-coms like You’ve Got Mail and When Harry Met SallyMeg Ryan will now star in a comedy for Epix, and we can’t wait to see more of her. That’s huge news for the fabulous star who has made us laugh through the years. And we’re so glad that she now has her own show.

Meg Ryan will be in new comedy series Picture Paris, which is adapted from a short film.

The show will be written by Brad Hall, who also wrote and directed the short that the show on which it will be based. The original short film Picture Paris starred Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who is also Brad’s wife. The short told the story of a suburban mom with grown kids. She and her husband take a trip to Paris, only to find that the trip isn’t at all what they thought it would be. That show sounds fabulous, because we have all thought about giving up our lives and just movie to Paris (right???). And we’d love to see the hilarious comedy of what that might really look like.

We can only imagine how awesome the project must be, because this show will be Meg’s first TV appearance in 30 years.

Meg Ryan got her start in daytime television, when she starred in As the World Turns. She also had a starring role in the short-lived western drama, Wildside. In 2013, Meg made a few appearances on Lisa Kudrow’s show, Web Therapy. But other than that, Meg has stuck to projects on the silver screen. So knowing that this project was fabulous enough to get her to make a big move makes us want to see it even more.

Plus, we can’t wait to see this sassy, funny lady making us LOL while traveling again.

We’re happy people, too. Because making travel hilarious in When Harry Met Sally was one of the roles that made us love Meg so much.  According to Variety, the series will be “fast tracked,” so hopefully we’ll get to see Meg Ryan on our screens really soon.
