The story behind this dog photo is the best example of true friendship
Happy Friday! If you didn’t expect to cry real tears today, well, sorry in advance. This is the story of two dog best friends who never gave up on each other. Tillie and Phoebe are two sweet dogs who were lost in the woods together in Washington State for almost an entire week. Phoebe fell into a concrete cistern in a ravine and wasn’t able to get out. So her bestie Tillie did what she had to do to save her friend — she left during the days to try to find help, but then returned to watch over her at night.
According to USA Today, animal rescue organization Vashon Island Pet Protectors (VIPP) received a call on September 14 from someone who said a “reddish dog” had come up to them several times before heading back into the woods. When volunteers went into the woods to find the dog, they not only found Phoebe stuck in the cold cistern with her head resting on the concrete wall, but they realized why she had been coming up to people and then heading back to the ravine. She was trying to get a human to follow her to save Phoebe.
