McDonald’s is replacing their Dollar Menu with something even better
The days of running to Mcdonald’s with only a fiver in your pocket are back! Since, two years ago, McDonald’s sadly scrapped their dollar menu. They rebranded it, and upped the price of their items. Options on the Dollar Menu’s replacement ranged anywhere from a dollar to five dollars and honestly, the promotion didn’t go very well. The prices were hiked without an added value to go with it.
McDonald’s CEO Steve Eastabrook addressed customers frustrations on a conference call in July. “Some of the challenges we’ve had in the US have been somewhat self-inflicted. We moved away from the Dollar Menu and didn’t replace it with significant-enough value in the eyes of consumers. So McDonald’s is revamping the menu once more! Starting January 4th, McDonald’s is starting a brand new promotion — the “McPick Two.” Here’s how it works. For just two dollars, you get to pick two of the following: a McDouble, a McChicken, small fries, and mozzarella sticks.
A whole meal for $2? Um, yum! The promotion will run for five weeks, and if it goes well, franchises will get to choose whether or not they continue the promotion.
But McDonald’s is not the only fast food joint to be cutting their prices to up their sales. Burger King, KFC, and Wendy’s are all offering up new promotions similar to the “McPick Two.” Because of the way the economy is improving and gas prices lowering, customers are also looking for a better deal from the big fast food chains. So the next time you’re low on cash and looking for a fast meal, you can once again stop at a fast food chain. Without breaking the bank.
