You will dig McDonald’s latest drive-thru change

There are countless reasons why the drive-thru is the way to go including (but certainly not limited to): the fact that you don’t have to get out of your car; you don’t necessarily have to get properly dressed to snag some food; minimal human contact; you can keep listening to Adele; food is handed right to you and then you can immediately drive away like some sort of magic.

The downside is that it’s a lot harder to double-check your bag-o-food, because with French fries sitting at the top, it’s hard to see all the way to the bottom. Then it’s the struggle of getting home and realizing your order is wrong, and no one ever wants to drive back. Been there, not done that.

McDonald’s knows this struggle well, and they want to put an end to it. They’re implementing a new drive-thru procedure for their employees called, “ask, ask, tell.” It sure sounds like a fun game you might play on the playground, but it’s actually a way to make sure that your order is right every single time.

It’s a super simple thing that will save everyone a lot of hassle. When you roll up to the drive-thru, and place your order, it’ll be repeated back to you not once but three different times: when you order, when you pay, and then when you’re handed your food at the very end. While it might not be the best for a speedy drive-thru meal, what’s more important is that you get your cheeseburger without pickles every time.

Right now it’s optional for McDonald’s, meaning that not every drive-thru might be using it. But if you’re asking for our feedback, Mickey D’s, we’re telling you this is actually a great idea.
