The new “Maze Runner” release date has officially been pushed back
Details have been scarce about the new Maze Runner movie following Dylan O’Brien’s accident earlier this year, but the postponed release date is here, and it’s kind of a long way off.
Maze Runner: The Death Cure wasoriginally slated to open February 2017, but it looks like we might have to wait until January 2018. O’Brien reportedly had a on-set accident back in March, and was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. Deadline.com reports, “O’Brien apparently fell off the back of a set that was supposed to look like the back of a train and fractured either his cheekbone or orbital socket (still not clear on the details) when he fell on his face.”
20th Century Fox has gone back and forth about canceling production indefinitely, but have recently decided that postponing it would be a much better option.
Maze Runner writer James Dashner tweeted his best wishes to O’Brien in March, and it looks like not much has changed since then. false
No matter when the movie is set to open, we’ll be first in line to buy our tickets. Until then, though, we’re wishing Dylan O’Brien a speedy recovery.
