Max Greenfield says that working with Brie Larson is inspiring and terrifying, and we understand

The Glass Castle is the latest in a long line of films to include an amazing performance from Brie Larson, who won the Academy Award for Best Actress for Room in 2016.

Based on the memoir by Jeannette Walls, The Glass Castle tells the coming-of-age story of a young girl, Jeannette, and her unconventional upbringing by her artist mother Rose Mary (Naomi Watts) and alcoholic father Rex (Woody Harrelson). Larson is incredibly emotive — and able to say so much with just a look — as the older version of Jeannette.

So you can see how working with Larson could be both inspiring and terrifying, as it was for Max Greenfield.

Greenfield plays Jeannette’s fiancé David, a Wall Street man who is very unlike Jeannette’s family, in the film — and most of his time onscreen is spent with Larson.

"She's a great leader, and obviously, so incredibly talented," Greenfield told HelloGiggles of what Larson is like as a collaborator. "I think what you start to realize about great actors, it's not that they're doing anything differently than everybody else. It's not like a magic trick. They work harder and commit more and the commitment on her level, when they call 'action,' is really quite terrifying."

Again, terrifying and inspiring.

“But it also inspires everyone around, because when you have somebody who’s number one on the call sheet and committing the way that she was every day, everybody else follows suit and you raise up to that level,” he continued. “So it was really, really, really cool to see and I feel really fortunate that I was a part of this cast and I got to be included.”

The Glass Castle is currently in theaters, so prepare to be blown away by the inimitable Brie Larson and Max Greenfield.
