Time to freak out: Schmidt from “New Girl” just joined the cast of “American Horror Story: Hotel”

One dose a week of Max Greenfield as Schmidt on New Girl is not enough — which is why we’re so excited that this fall we’re getting double the Greenfield: Ryan Murphy just tweeted that the actor is joining the cast of American Horror Story: Hotel.

Check out the super-spooky way Murphy delivered the good news:

So things are PROBABLY not going to go well for Greenfield at the hotel. But he’ll be in good company — things never go well for ANYBODY on this show.

We are SO jazzed about the casting for this season of AHS. Greenfield will be joining AHS favorites Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Chloe Sevigny, and Angela Bassett, plus brand-new cast members Cheyenne Jackson and Lady Gaga. October can’t come soon enough!
