Matthew McConaughey and Kiehl’s are teaming up to spread the word about autism
There’s something *this* Oscar-winning actor needs to talk to you about right now. Yes, we’re talking Matthew McConaughey, who is partnering up with Kiehl’s to spread the word about autism this September. You’d be forgiven if you weren’t aware that the disease affects 1 in every 68 kids, and that it’s one of the fastest-growing development disorders in the United States today.
But what you can’t ignore is that this is a conversation more of us need to be having. And Matthew, Kiehl’s, and the folks at Autism Speaks have some ideas for how you can start right now: by sharing this video.
“Let’s talk about Autism,” McConaughey says in the brief clip. “Autism affects an estimated 70 million people worldwide. Children with autism need our support, and they need it right now. They need early diagnosis and they need access to services to give them a real chance at a better life.”
That’s right, all you have to do is hit “share,” and Kiehl’s will take care of the donation for you!
In addition to donating $1 per share, up to $200,000 total, the do-gooder skin care company also partnered with the actor to create a limited-edition Kiehl’s x Matthew McConaughey Ultra Facial Cream ($47.50), with packaging designed by the artsy actor himself.
Look closely, and you’ll see that the colorful puzzled design pays homage to the Autism Speaks organization, which uses a blue puzzle piece as its logo.
It’s rare that we can combine splurging on a brilliant skin care product with raising money for an extremely worthy cause, but that’s exactly what’s happening here, folks. And regardless whether you’re *actually* going to make said splurge (which you totally should because this cream is life-changing), please, please share this video. It’s totally free for you, and it will help kids in need!
