Matthew McConaughey and Adele on ‘SNL.’ You heard us.
Guys. This is not a drill! This is a REAL THING that is REALLY happening! Not only is the wonderful and amazing Adele coming to SNL for the first time in EIGHT years (since her debut album), but she’ll be joined by host Matthew McConaughey. And we feel alright, alright, alright about (JK, we feel amazing and excited!).
The two will be on the show’s November 21st episode, the day after Adele’s latest album, 25, comes out. McConaughey doesn’t seem to be promoting anything in particular. Maybe he’ll take some time to talk about his transformation for his role in Gold? Maybe he’s just got jokes for us? Either way, we’ll take it.
So what skits would we like to see McConaughey do, in an ideal world? So glad you asked! Obviously we need to see some Lincoln car ad spoofs and nonsense mystical monologues from True Detective. If they can get him to reprise Magic Mike or in any way strip and dance we are so down. The best would be the return of Mr. Alright, Alright, Alright himself, Wooderson from Dazed & Confused. Just make him say, “They keep getting younger but I stay the same age,” one more time!
We’re guessing Adele won’t be showing us her acting chops in any skits, even though the director of her latest video says she is a fantastic actress.
This will mark McConaughey’s first appearance on SNL since 2003 in his, um, How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days era. My, my how times have changed. We can’t wait!
