Heart-eye emojis for Matt McGorry’s funny and feminist International Women’s Day t-shirt

We had a crush on Matt McGorry ever since we first laid eyes on him as Officer Bennett in Orange Is The New Black. That crush grew even bigger after we found out his stance on the wage gap. It became a monster crush after Matt published an essay in support of feminism in September, and then it evolved into full-blown love after he said he was “absolutely” a feminist, adding, “Ultimately, if there were as many male feminists as there are female feminists, we wouldn’t need to be fighting for equality.” And now, in honor of International Womens Day, the How to Get Away With Murder star teamed up with Lindsey Wood to sell a rad t-shirt for an amazing reason.

The t-shirt, which is available in four different colors on Represent, reads, “I’m not a feminist because ___” with two options underneath: “I don’t understand that it just means believing in gender equality” and “I’m an asshole.” (LOL, but also, so, so true.) Profits will be going to NARAL Pro-Choice America, an organization who fights for reproductive freedom.

“On behalf of International Women’s Day, I’m inviting other people into the same conversation that changed me: feminism,” McGorry wrote on Represent. “By using humor to spark discussions around equality, I believe we can change minds and hearts.”

Many have been thanking him over Twitter for using his public platform to stand up for women’s reproductive rights.
