Matt Bomer dancing to “Hotline Bling” on ‘AHS’ was the best part of the season
For those of us who’ve watched Magic Mike XXL, this probably won’t surprise you: Matt Bomer, he of the you’ll-cut-yourself-on-them cheekbones and laser-like baby blues, has the voice of an angel. But his latest musical moment doesn’t feature any of his singing — instead, it’s his fancy footwork, to none other than Drake’s tsk tsk-ing hit “Hotline Bling,” that takes the spotlight in this clip from last night’s episode of American Horror Story: Hotel.
After committing a spot of murder, Bomer’s character Donovan got down to the vaguely tropical jam, mimicking Drake’s adorable dance moves down to a T (he even does the little phone hand crank move) and reveling in the moment. Considering the song’s basically an anti-revenge song, with someone languishing at his ex’s newfound flourishing, the use is a bit ironic, but not so considering the end of the episode. (No spoilers here, but suffice to say — the song is only used for dark humor.)
Look, we’re not saying that giant turtlenecks and shuffling dance moves are the look for the holiday season, but if it works for Bomer, why not us? Watch him get down to “Hotline Bling” below:
