Mary-Kate and Ashley’s party movies ranked
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have made a LOT of movies throughout their lives — and we love them all. Okay, some were better than others, like Passport to Paris and Billboard Dad were definitely a cut above The Challenge (sorry, but the truth hurts), but what about their party movies?
The Olsen twins did feature films, aka Winning London, solved a ton of crimes by dinnertime in their Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley movies, and were even on TV, but we’re still obsessing over their sometimes underrated party series. If you don’t remember all of the You’re Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley’s party films, we’ve got you covered. We’ve ranked them all from meh to amazing, so enjoy!

You’re Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley’s Fashion Party
This was the worst! We get it, the girls are into fashion, by this seemed like a major plug for Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, which is just annoying. The fashions displayed in this so-called party video, were pretty great though (in a early ’00s sort of way), so that’s a bonus.

You’re Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley’s Christmas Party
Mary-Kate and Ashley showed off their tomboy style at their Christmas party, which we loved. Although they made tasty treats, including gingerbread cookies and hung out with their dog Clue, there just wasn’t enough going on at the party to make it go to the top of the list. Plus, we’re pretty sure play dough was used to add to the “messy” kitchen, so it gets minus points for that.

You’re Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley’s Ballet Party
While, the plot seems a little crazy, you know going to New York to perform your exceptional ballet skills when you’re about 10 years old, this was an okay movie. You got to see NYC sights and all the excitement that goes into performing, plus the girls’ dancing skills weren’t that bad.

You’re Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley’s Camp Out Party
Camping is fun and all, but it’s not the best location for a party. There are bugs and monsters, duh! Luckily, the girls did have tents and flashlights, which made for great props during their dancing and singing numbers.

You’re Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley’s School Dance Party
In the 2000 film, Mary-Kate and Ashley were a little bit older, which sadly diminished this movie’s awesomeness. The low points were definitely the awkward singing parts at the actual middle school dance, while the high points were the girls’ outfits and singing. Yes, singing was both bad and good in this movie’s case. Re-watch it and you’ll totally understand what we’re saying. Spoiler: they rap!

You’re Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley’s Costume Party
Playing dress up is always a good idea! During MK and Ash’s costume extravaganza they created a mini fashion show, while showing off numerous costumes. It was the ultimate Halloween inspiration film, plus they got to play dress up all day — how is that not fun?

You’re Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley’s Birthday Party
Okay, so this wasn’t as much of a party as it was about figuring out what kind of party the twins should have for their birthday, but it was really fun. There were a lot of silly ideas thrown around, like a piñata party, or makeover machine party, but every one of them gave us major party inspiration. Plus, they ended up spending the day at Six Flags Magic Mountain with their friends, so it was a happy birthday after all.

You’re Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley’s Hawaiian Beach Party
Life’s rough when you’re Mary-Kate and Ashley, so what did they do to unwind? They took a submarine (yes, really) all the way to Hawaii for an epic — and authentic — Hawaiian beach party, duh! At this party, which featured the girls in adorable matching hawaiian shirts and sunnies, they escaped all their extracurricular activities and enjoyed surfing, swimming and a “wild, wet, wacky, wonderful, time!”

You’re Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley’s Mall Party
Who even knew that mall parties existed before this film? We didn’t! Mary-Kate and Ashley were bored in beginning of this movie, so they decided to have a mall party, which might sound lame, but it was actually awesome. The whole thing took place at the Mall of America and made girls everywhere want to fly all the way to Minnesota to have their own mall adventures.

You’re Invited to Mary-Kate and Ashley’s Sleepover Party
This classic was hands down the best of the party films! First of all, the girls pulled an all-nighter (and sang about it), which is impressive for such a young age. They then had a dress up portion, where they scared one another and were “very, very, very unbelievably scary.” Most importantly however, they sang the pizza song.
Remember when you were at a sleepover in elementary school or middle school and wanted to try and make your own food? Well Mary-Kate and Ashley’s sleepover included a pizza making portion — with the best song ever — that led to them ordering a pie to actually eat.

Although we were never actually invited to one of Mary-Kate and Ashley’s parties growing up, we still loved watching all the movies and pretending like we were! Sign us up for a sleepover with the Olsen twins any day, but no fish on our pizza, please!
