Mary J. Blige, Kerry Washington, and Taraji P. Henson sob over “Someone Like You” too
You know that feeling you get when you listen to Adele’s “Someone Like You” or a similarly “Ouch my emotions” song? None other than your fave BFFs Mary J. Blige, Kerry Washington, and Taraji P. Henson can relate. In a new spot for Apple Music titled “Heartbreak Recovery Service”, which debuted during last night’s Grammy Awards (and which was directed by Ava DuVernay again), the three all-star women shared the songs that hit them in the heart.
For Mary J. Blige, Adele’s show-stopper is a sad triumph: “This is when you’re done. Like, you know what? I’m so happy for you, and I’m your friend again.” Washington added, “I have whole playlists about that feeling,” before busting out Lauryn Hill’s brutal “Ex-Factor.” As for Henson? She brings the mood up with none other than Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” leading to the snappiest line delivery of the spot: “Yeah Siri, play that.”
