Mark Wahlberg’s daughter and Will Ferrell’s son are apparently “in communication,” and we have questions
Time flies pretty quickly — Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell both have teenagers. Wahlberg’s daughter Ella and Ferrell’s son Magnus are both 13, and it appears that they’re a bit familiar with each other. As in, they may be dating. Or, they might just be friends. Or maybe it’s simply an online friendship. Regardless of what’s happening, it’s pretty amazing — even though their funny fathers might have some hesitations.
Wahlberg and Ferrell discussed the topic on The Ellen DeGeneres Show while promoting their film Daddy’s Home 2. The episode, which will be the premiere of the show’s 15th season, is set to air on Tuesday, September 5th. From the sounds of it, it’ll be an excellent start to the season.
First, Wahlberg had some words about young Magnus.
"I thought [Magnus] was a lovely lad until I found out that he has formed some sort of communication with my oldest child," Wahlberg said.
According to Ferrell, the two are following each other on Instagram. The thought made Wahlberg a little nervous at first, because hey — fathers can get a little protective of their daughters.
"In actuality, as I've thought about it, I've come to understand that it is inevitable that she'll be with somebody," Wahlberg said. "So, if it could be with someone like Will, I would be happy."
Now, for the big question — is Magnus like a mini-Will Ferrell?
According to Ferrell himself, his son has one quirk that might make Wahlberg a little nervous. He buys knives on the internet.
"So, keep your cutlery locked up if he comes over," Ferrell advised. "Other than that, he's very sweet."
Sounds to us like a match made in heaven.
