Mark Ruffalo pranked his kids, and then they pranked him right back

We’re not surprised that the Ruffalo kids (Odette, Bella and Keen) have a hearty sense of humor—their dad is The Hulk after all. Before Mark Ruffalo went on Jimmy Kimmel last night, he decided to give Kimmel’s iconic “I ate all your Halloween candy” prank a try. Turns out, he completely underestimated his kids.

For those who aren’t familiar, every year Jimmy Kimmel challenges parents to videotape themselves explaining to their kids that they ate all their Halloween candy. The results are always hilarious, so Mark Ruffalo gave it a try this season and, well, you can see what happens in the video below:

Woah, was that…the Hulk? Yes, as Ruffalo explains, this hilarious prank video may have been staged, but it was a perfect representation of how we all would react were we given this terrible news. There would definitely be a lot of screaming, and a lot of hulk-like emotions.

But Ruffalo wasn’t off the hook. He explained to Kimmel how he often pranks his kids, but one time, his daughter got him back big time.

He explains what happens in this clip:

His 10-year-old daughter takes things to the next level, faking an entire car crash over the phone. Her father wasn’t laughing. He immediately called his wife in a panic, who revealed that it had all been a seriously intense prank.

That’s the problem when acting runs in the family: pranks are just too good. With the Halloween season behind us, hopefully the pranks will calm down, but I’m not so sure. There’s a lot of hilarious things you can do with a turkey.
