Mark Ruffalo finding out that Brie Larson was in 13 Going on 30 is officially all of us
Yesterday, April 23rd, 13 Going on 30 celebrated its 15th anniversary. The movie truly has everything we could ever want in a film: a “Thriller” dance sequence, a magical dream house, and Mark Ruffalo as the sweet-yet-hot love interest. But there’s a minor (but also major) detail that we never actually realized…apparently, Brie Larson, aka Captain Marvel herself, makes an appearance. And even Ruffalo had no idea.
At the Avengers: Endgame premiere, the actor spoke to a reporter from Entertainment Tonight who told him that Larson was also in the iconic 2004 film. The reporter even supplied a still of Larson with the rest of the Six Chicks—the group of popular girls who pick on Jenna Rink when she’s a teen. Ruffalo was just as surprised as we were to learn that his Endgame co-star had appeared in another movie with him.
"She was a mean girl! Oh my God, that’s amazing. Wow, I didn’t know that," Ruffalo said, laughing as he marveled at the picture.
Ruffalo went on to explain that he and Larson didn’t actually work together for 13 Going on 30. He was only in scenes set in the future, and she was only in scenes set in the past.
Here’s another picture of Larson in the movie, in case you need more evidence:
ET asked Larson about her 13 Going on 30 role, too, and the Captain Marvel actress revealed that her experience on set had a profound impact on her.
Consider our minds blown.
