Mark Hamill’s kids had secret cameos in “The Last Jedi,” and we totally missed them
The Last Jedi came with all kinds of surprises, including secret cameos from Mark Hamill’s kids! We knew Mark Hamill’s kids were on set because of a really emotional (no, seriously, if you’re a hardcore Star Wars fan, get ready) interview he previously did with Entertainment Weekly where he talked about returning to the Millennium Falcon. But we didn’t realize their presence at the studio was, perhaps, indicative of a surprise as exciting as Mark Hamill’s secret second role in The Last Jedi.
Mark Hamill’s kids — Nathan, Griffin, and Chelsea — apparently all had cameos in the movie as Resistance Fighters.
Mark Hamill himself clued us in on this neat secret on Twitter when he thanked director Rian Johnson for keeping his kids in the film. As we know from every special feature on every DVD ever, things frequently end up on the cutting room floor and never get seen. And needless to say, we’re glad this wasn’t one of them!
Since making his big return to the series was an emotional thing in general for Mark Hamill, we can imagine it was probably wonderful for him to share such a large part of his young life with his kids. And we have to admit, we’re super jealous that we’re not related to Mark Hamill. We totally want to hang out in the Millennium Falcon and have cameos as Resistance Fighters, geez.
Thanks for not letting @NathanHamill @GriffinHamill & @chelseahamill wind-up on #TheLastJedi cutting-room floor @rianjohnson! And for allowing my one directorial note: "Pop-up FASTER or Oscar'll block ya!" on the 2nd & final take. #MyKidsCoolCameoAsRebelScum pic.twitter.com/TVRVE5lwHf

While we don’t know exactly when his kids show up in the film, Hamill shared some photos that reveal the background characters his kids played — and they look incredibly cool. Time to watch The Last Jedi again (and again!) to see if we can spot them.
