Mariah Carey’s daughter Monroe just sang the most adorable duet on stage with her mom
Well, it looks like talent just runs in the family. While playing a date on the “All The Hits” tour with Lionel Richie, Mariah Carey’s daughter Monroe got on stage to sing a surprise duet with her mother. And let’s just say that we’re pretty impressed.
Born in 2011, Monroe — who arrived alongside twin Moroccan — is just six years old. While sharing a stage with mom might seem like a bit of a daunting task for a kid, Monroe had absolutely no problem. But being that her dad is Nick Cannon, it makes sense that having two camera-ready parents helped her out with the spotlight.
The two decided to sing a classic Carey hit — “Always Be My Baby.”
Since both Moroccan and Monroe were literally born while Carey’s music was playing, we get the impression that she had no problem with the lyrics.
Just earlier this month, Cannon admitted that the twins were stars in the making — based solely on their own interests, and with no pressure from their parents.
"My kids, especially Moroccan and Monroe, they're hams," he said to E! News. "They love attention. They love performing. My son is fascinated with cameras and directing and making little movies. They definitely have the bug."
We think that this isn’t the last time that Monroe will be stage-ready. Carey has tour dates planned throughout October before she starts her Christmas tour. We’re not sure if Monroe will make more appearances throughout these last few dates, but surely the experience was truly a meaningful one. Who knows? Maybe she’ll partake on her own tour someday, and Carey will help by singing her songs.
