Mariah Carey made her musical TV comeback following THAT New Year’s Eve performance

Fans of being extra and lovers of divas can rejoice as Mariah Carey made her musical TV comeback last night (February 15th), and she KILLED IT.

Over the holiday period, Mariah Carey had what can only be described as a hot mess of a performance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. The performance saw the singer give up singing amidst technical difficulties, while a backing track played out. This begun a war of words between Mariah’s camp and the producers of the show, with the singer herself saying she felt “mortified” after what had happened.

While some of us would have run for the hills, however, Mariah released a new shady single, and announced her TV comeback performance.

Well, last night Mariah Carey made her first televised TV performance since New Year’s Eve, and she absolutely SLAYED.

While clearly looking a bit nervous, Mariah served some signature divaisms on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night with the debut performance of her new single “I Don’t.”

Dressed in a plunging red dress, Mariah looked every bit the diva, as she stood center stage and sang her heart out. What’s more, when she was joined by rapper YG, the singer seemed to relax a bit and can even be seen laughing.

Watch the performance below.

It’s so great to see Mariah feeling confident to perform again after what happened on New Year’s Eve. While it seems that she’s experiencing something of a resurgence recently, we can imagine that the technical difficulties and the resulting public response would have had a knock on anyone’s confidence.

It’s so great to see Mariah back on stage, and serving it as per usual!
