Margot Robbie’s dress proves boho will officially be the wedding trend of 2017
They say two is a coincidence and three is a trend — so now that Margot Robbie has joined Troian Bellisario and Patrick J. Adams and Dancing With the Stars couple Mark Ballas and BC Jean in the bohemian weddings club, it’s time to announce that boho-chic will officially be the wedding trend of 2017.
People reports that Robbie’s wedding to director beau Tom Ackerley was a “bohemian dream,” and Robbie’s rustic Instagram pic confirming the nuptials — which provides a limited look at her gown —basically confirms that this is true. According to The Telegraph, she wore a very boho cream, off-the-shoulder dress, and the couple served their guests pizza, barbecue, and Coco Pops to match the laid-back vibe. A local Australian site managed to snap some pics of the Byron Bay, Australia festivities, confirming the wedding was, for lack of a better phrase, super chill.

Of course we wish we were spoiled with more pictures from Robbie’s event, but we totally respect the couple’s privacy — and are freaking out at how so many famous couples have ditched glitz and glamour for outdoorsy weddings in the past calendar month alone.
Bellisario and Adams, for example, had a wedding we already described as a “bohemian-nymph-princess-hiker’s dream” on December 10, complete with camping tents for their guests and bus transportation to the exclusive affair.
… And of course, Bellisario’s ethereal dress from Cortana matched the overall camp aesthetic.
Meanwhile, Jean and Ballas also “went for an earthy vibe” for their November 25th wedding at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, meaning they literally said their vows in front of a 100-year-old oak tree and lit sage and jasmine during the ceremony.
They also incorporated a Volkswagen bus into their after party, because with these two, the boho fun just never ends.
Still not convinced that an outdoorsy, rustic wedding is now the de facto trend for celeb couples in Hollywood? Check out Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney from Vanderpump Rules having a “rustic-chic” wedding in Northern California this past August, and try to tell us that celebs aren’t whispering behind our backs; changing the whole wedding game without our knowledge.
So with that in mind, excuse us as we research flowing dresses, forts, mason jars, and banjo players to prepare for even more boho-chic bliss in 2k17.
