Natalie Dormer just dropped a huge ‘Game of Thrones’ spoiler about her character’s fate
This week on The Late, Late Show with James Corden, Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer dropped a hint about the fate of her character, Queen Margaery Baratheon (aka, the Queen of Westeros) and things aren’t look super great for her.
As Corden prodded and tried to get the scoop on what’s happening this season on Game of Thrones, he assumes that the Queen is going to make it. I mean, so do we all, Margaery is one of the most cunning and smart characters on the show, after-all.
Corden finally says, “They’re not gonna fire you! You’re halfway through shooting it. Don’t worry about it. You have a massive movie coming out Friday; you probably just want to get out of your contract anyway, so let’s just blow the doors off the thing!”
Dormer kept her lips sealed for the most part, despite James’ needling, but does give this juicy tidbit away. She says, of the upcoming season, “Cersei is the least of Margaery’s problems.” She added, “She’s got bigger problems this season.”
So, while Dormer didn’t go wild with spoilers, she did give away something huge: it definitely seems like Margaery is in store for some very bad things. Season 5 left the Queen in the hands of religious zealots, the Sparrows —all because Cersei Lannister didn’t like the way her daughter-in-law was treating her (and because Cersei is a pretty big jerk and didn’t want to share her son, King Tommen.) Will she stay locked up in her cell, along with her brother? Will King Tommen finally rescue her?
We’ll just have to wait for season 6 of Game of Thrones to see for sure. Watch the clip for yourself and see if you can find anymore clues!
