Marcia Clark is making a TV show that’s just like her life, and Sarah Paulson must play the lead

There’s no denying that Sarah Paulson absolutely nailed her portrayal of Marcia Clark in FX’s American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson. The actress even won an Emmy for the role.

Now, Marcia Clark is developing a new TV show, according to Deadline.

And since the two are clearly an excellent team, we would love to see Sarah Paulson in the lead role.

The fictional legal drama will tell the story of a female prosecutor who loses the trial of the century, and the repercussions that follow. Though the show is admittedly fictional, it sure sounds like Clark — the former O.J. Simpson prosecutor — is pulling from some real-life experience to create it.

Clark’s whodunit soap is being developed by ABC, with help from Mandeville TV and writer-producers Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain. (Clark, Craft, and Fain are all writing and executive producing.)

Though the show has some parallels to Clark’s life, it will also take some wild (and again, fictional!) turns. For instance, in the show, the killer strikes again eight years after being acquitted.

Of course, there’s no word yet about whether or not Paulson will be involved in the new project.

That’s just wishful thinking on our part, but the two definitely bonded during Awards Season last year. So it seems like Paulson totally gets Clark’s style.

Then again, Paulson stays plenty busy with awesome films like the upcoming Ocean’s Eight reboot and basically owns every season of American Horror Story. So it’d be understandable if she isn’t able to take part. But if these two badass women wanted to collaborate and bring another powerful woman to TV again, we would be ALL for it.

Because this news was just announced, we’ve got a while before we’ll get to see this show in action. But we’re excited to follow it every step of the way.
