In sad news, Marc Anthony and Shannon de Lima are officially calling it quits

Nobody likes to hear about news of a split, especially since 2016 has been a pretty rough year in general. Unfortunately, singer Marc Anthony and Shannon de Lima are divorcing after two years together.

Anthony married de Lima in 2014. Prior to, he was famously married to Jennifer Lopez, the mother of his twins, Max and Emme. According to a statement released by Florida attorney Peter Gonzalez, the separation of Anthony and de Lima is mutual.

"After much consideration, we have mutually and amicably decided to end our two year marriage," the statement said .

The couple, who made it public that they had separated last month, also asked for privacy during this stressful time.

The good news, is that Anthony has proven that he can still maintain friendships with his exes. Just recently, he hit the stage with Lopez for a pretty interesting duet at the Latin Grammy’s.

While it ended with a kiss, it’s too early to tell if they’ll resume any sort of romantic connection, or if it was a peck that just proves they’ve got a bunch of respect for each other. (The fact that the audience was screaming out “beso,” which means “kiss,” probably factored in there as well!)

It’s sweet to know that they still work together quite well, for the sake of their children. While we think it’d be good for Anthony to recuperate and enjoy time to himself while going through this divorce, it’s nice to know that at least he has a supportive friend in Lopez.
