So many celebrities have reacted to the heartbreaking reversal of transgender student protection

Since hearing about the Trump administration’s withdrawal of federal protection for transgender students, celebrities have responded to the anti-trans ruling in droves.
The decision is plainly unfair and discriminates against the transgender community (public school students are now no longer protected by law if they use the restroom or locker room with which they best identify), and many view this as a human rights violation. We’ve come so far in achieving equality as a society, and needless to say, this is a huge step back.
Let these voices be heard loud and clear.
Just seeing the news about removing laws protecting trans people. This isn’t about politics. It’s about human rights, and it’s not okay.

the real issue surrounding the transgender bathroom situation is about allowing trans people to simply exist. #protecttranskids pic.twitter.com/ELShHESEUX

To the LGBTQ community, I'm sorry for the message that was sent today. They don't speak for all of us. We love you.

We’re super glad that these celebrities are using their public platform to raise awareness about what’s going on in the political and social scene. It’s very scary to think of the violent backlash that could very well result from this rollback, not to mention the increase in social isolation and depression among transgender youth.
If you didn’t see Richard Linklater’s PSA against the anti-trans bathroom bill in Texas, it’s definitely worth checking out. In the simplest way, it puts forward the idea that everybody deserves a safe place to go to the bathroom, and that this is not a privacy issue — it’s a discrimination issue.
Now more than ever, we must show our support for #transgender youth. We are with you and we support you. ❤💛💚💙💜 #ProtectTransKids

The more voices who get on board with this campaign, the better. Positive change never comes easy, but usually when it comes, it’s the result of a large group who wouldn’t stop until the end.
So, let’s keep fighting this together.
