Mandy Moore convinced us that you can wear pumpkin-orange and blue together

Think of all the fashion rules you were taught when you were younger. No black and brown together, no white after Labor Day, always match your belt to your bag. Looking back on these anecdotes, it’s easy to see how dated they are. Another rule we weren’t told as sternly, but perhaps internalized anyway? Never to wear orange and blue together. But thanks to Mandy Moore and her Rosie Assoulin dress in pumpkin-orange and midnight blue, we’re rethinking this opinion.

We can’t deny how refreshing it is to see an ensemble so unexpected that works so well. But it is Mandy, so are we actually surprised?

Mandy wore this colorful slip to the Season 2 premiere of This Is Us, and she looked like autumn personified.

This slip took the basic silhouette of our favorite throwback dress style and turned the volume up, up, up. With color-blocking and blue floral embellishments on the left sleeve, this dress has plenty of personality. Plus, since it features a brocade pattern in a shining metallic, there’s some major royal vibes going on, reminding us that Mandy is queen.

Mandy’s makeup was just as striking as her dress. With brows arched to the tens, a tease of orange eyeshadow, and a strawberry stained lip, this look is simple yet regal. Paired with her shoulder-length hair in soft, old Hollywood curls, Mandy is a vision. We love the pairing of this dress with such a classic beauty look.

The finishing touch is obviously Mandy’s strappy Sophia Webster heels. With pearlescent stilettos, it’s safe to say there’s no shortage of glamorous details here.
