Mandy Moore says she’s “working on” a “Walk to Remember” reunion, and we need to know what that means

On Wednesday, January 25th, the world got just a little bit more romantic when Mandy Moore and Shane West launched a Twitter Q&A in honor of the 15th anniversary of A Walk to Remember.

Discussing everything from the most emotionally challenging scene (for Moore, her Jamie telling West’s Landon she was sick) to whether or not that telescope actually worked (it did), both actors seemingly had a blast interacting with fans and taking a walk down Remember lane.

However, since we’re ’90s kids and therefore used to everything we love eventually coming back to us, the part that got us most excited was when Moore told a fan they were “working on” a reunion.

Since — massive 2002 spoiler alert — Jamie dies at the end, we’re guessing she’s not talking about a sequel. And since a Wet Hot American Summer-style prequel series 15 years later doesn’t sound tonally correct for a Nicholas Sparks movie, let’s go ahead and guess she means a photoshoot, or some type of Con reunion, or a different film project altogether.

Or a commentary, as West noted that he’d be on board for a second go-round.

… And Moore agreed.

Just know that whatever it is, we are so, so down — especially since it seems like filming the movie was, and is, one of the highlight’s of Moore’s impressive career.

“I think that it was such an overwhelmingly positive, memorable experience for me because it was my first leading role, and it was the first film I worked on away from home,” she explained to EW. “We shot it in Wilmington, North Carolina, and it was the first time I’d ever had that kind of camp-like experience where you come home and cry when it’s over and you’re determined to keep in touch with everyone. It just gives me an all-encompassing warm feeling inside.”

Same, girl.
