This male dancer auditioned for the Miami Heat dance team, and he slayed

Keyth Wylson didn’t let the fact that he was the only guy in a room full of 200 women stop him from auditioning for the Miami Heat dance team this week. He came to bring it. Spoiler alert: HE DID.

A video of his audition has been making the rounds on social media, and everyone is in total agreement. Wylson slayed.

When asked why he tried out, Wylson gave the perfect answer: “Dance and that’s it. It has no gender, no sexuality. It’s just dance, and it’s art.” A big, giant AMEN to that.

It’s no wonder 28-year-old Wylson can dance. He’s a dance teacher, choreographer and the executive director at Exclusive Vibes Contemporary Dance Theatre in Miami. We not only love Wylson’s moves, but we also love his amazing attitude. He told Local News10 Florida, “Never let anyone tell you you can’t do something because of this or that, never let anyone tell you you’re not good enough, or you’re not small enough or you’re not fit enough; it should always be, ‘go for it.’” As far as we’re concerned, that’s sound advice for anyone pursuing a dream.

He first auditioned for the team back in 2013 and plans to keep on trying until he makes it. Good for you, Keyth! The Miami Heat is one of about a dozen NBA teams that have a dance team for seniors (the Golden Oldies), so allowing male dancers on their regular squad seems like a no-brainer. Especially if they have moves like Wylson. Wylson, of course, agrees. As he told News10, “The Heat is actually one of those organizations that’s open to anything, so I’m pretty sure one day it will happen.”

So are we, Keyth Wylson. So are we.
