The ladies that created “Making a Murderer” have a new crime show with George Clooney!
Every now and then, a TV show like Making a Murderer comes around and gets everybody so obsessed that they become internet sleuths who construct mind-blowing theories about Stephen Avery, Teresa Halbach, and the other major players. The show was fascinating beyond belief, so it’s likely that similar mass enthusiasm might occur with Making a Murderer‘s two female creators Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos’s new crime series, America’s Most Admired Lawbreaker. Guess who they’ve teamed with to produce this show… that’s right, George Clooney! And the production company he shares with Grant Heslov, Smokehouse Pictures.
Naturally, this show has an equally exciting premise. It’s based on The Huffington Post series of articles by journalist Stephen Brill, and tells the story about an infamous pharmaceutical company who created a ridiculously strong anti-psychotic drug and marked it to children and elderly people, hiding critical data about its side effects. When the company was investigated for malpractice, they had to pay an exorbitant amount in penalties, but at that point they’d already made billions of dollars in sales from the drug.
If that doesn’t sound like something to binge-watch, we don’t know what does! So far there’s no word on when the series will grace our screens, but we can confirm that Ricciardi and Demos will be directing the show and adapting the material in conjunction with writer/producer Nicki Paluga. With their track record, along with mega-star George Clooney who can’t put a foot wrong, we are already impatiently awaiting the mind-bending criminal activities that are in store for us.
