Major Lazer and a bunch of YouTubers made the BEST mashup of 2016’s best moments
As the year FINALLY draws to a close, YouTube have teamed up with Major Lazer and a bunch of content creators to pay homage to those moments of 2016 that weren’t totally trash.
Now, we love an end-of-year moment, whether that’s DJ Earworm creating the perfect mashup of the 2016’s biggest hits or all the amazing lists, like IMDb’s top stars of 2016. It can be easy, especially in a year like 2016, to forget the good things and to celebrate the positive things that have happened.
So, in a bid to see the light in the world, Major Lazer and YouTube joined forces to celebrate 2016’s moments.
Complete with cameos from celebs like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and YouTubers like Alfie Deyes, Grace Helbig, Lilly Singh, and Dan and Phil, the video sees some of the year’s biggest pop culture moments recreated to a popping soundtrack.
Songs like Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” Fifth Harmony’s “Work From Home,” The Chainsmoker’s “Closer,” and more are mashed up, while viral moments from the year like “Damn Daniel” and The Running Man Challenge are celebrated in all their glory.
The clip also parodies Kanye West’s controversial “Famous” video and sees Lilly Singh recreate an iconic moment from Beyoncé’s Lemonade.
The clip ends with an homage to James Corden’s popular Carpool Karaoke segment, with Corden himself and a bunch of famous YouTubers riding around lipsyncing to the year’s biggest songs.

It can be easy to get bogged down with all the negativity that’s presented to us every day, but it’s so nice to see something positive come out of the year.
