Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner celebrate August 7th for an adorable reason

Even if their characters on Game of Thrones don’t always see eye to eye, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner are real-life buds. This fact alone is more than enough to delight fans of the HBO series. But there’s one day that’s particularly important to their friendship — and the meaning behind it will not only take your love for these two actresses to another level, but it will also prove just how magical Game of Thrones really is.
As both Williams and Turner commemorated on their Instagram accounts, August 7th is a big day for them. And with August 7th being a significant date for Turner and Williams, it was pretty perfect that their characters Sansa and Arya reunited during the August 6th episode of Game of Thrones.
The date of August 7th actually has as much to do with Game of Thrones as it does with their friendship.
That’s because it’s the date that Williams and Turner were cast on the epic series. So it’s no wonder Williams and Turner celebrate this momentous anniversary, since it brought them each success AND a lifelong BFF.

As Turner explained to E! News, the pair got matching peach-colored tattoos in 2016 that say, “07.08.09,” since it was when they first heard that they were going to be on the most popular show in the world. (And for those who are confused, that’s not July 8th — it’s just the day-month-year format of writing the date that most of the world uses. Since both actresses are British, it makes sense — and it also makes for a much cooler tattoo.)
Along with having this date permanently inscribed on their bodies, Turner and Williams like to use their social media accounts to celebrate this sacred day.

So come next August 7th, give a toast to the Stark sisters, who are possibly the coolest (after all, they’re from the North) real-life besties ever.
