Maisie Williams will be Sophie Turner’s bridesmaid, and hopefully the color scheme is not red

Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams, aka the fiercest sisters in Westeros, are real-life BFFs. Their characters on Game of Thrones spent the majority of the series separated from one another, but that didn’t stop them from bonding off-screen. With Turner marrying Joe Jonas (yes, that Joe Jonas), it’s time to pick the bridal party. And, naturally, Maisie Williams is on the list.

That’s right, Maisie Williams will be Sophie Turner’s bridesmaid!

"I already got it," she told Radio Times, when asked if she was eyeing a role as bridesmaid. "It's very, very exciting. It's kind of bizarre, though."

When asked about how planning has progressed, Williams revealed they’re working around Game of Thrones. “We’re waiting ’til the season’s done, until we get into any of that. I think she’s already letting her little heart wander and imagine.”

The only thing that gives us pause, though, is the whole “wedding” thing. We know how weddings in the world of Game of Thrones turn out…If you don’t, though, here’s a tiny little spoiler for you: Death. A lot of death. Sometimes it’s the spouses, sometimes it’s guests, and sometimes it’s whole family lines! Whether at the ceremony or the after-party, people will die at a Game of Thrones wedding.

So it’s not crazy for us to be a little nervous about this. Or to hope that Turner and Jonas opt for a color scheme that isn’t, um, red.

Sophie Turner’s Sansa survived one fatal wedding party, but Maisie Williams’ Arya never attended one.

In a Season 4 episode of Game of Thrones, a certain character is murdered at their wedding ceremony. Knowing she’ll be framed for it, Turner’s character escapes with the help of a few mysterious characters. That’s nothing, though, compared to the Season 3 massacre known as The Red Wedding.

Williams’ character, meanwhile, was “at large” for most of the series, so she didn’t encounter one of these head-on. (Though, she just missed Red Wedding.)

Joking aside, congratulations to Turner and Jonas! And to Maisie Williams for her role as bridesmaid!
