Maisie Williams wore shorts on the red carpet, and this is one of her best looks

Much like her onscreen alter ego Arya Stark, Maisie Williams doesn’t always play by the rules when it comes fashion. And much like Arya, Maisie slays for just that reason.

The Game of Thrones actress attended the Mary Shelley premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this weekend. And instead of opting for some stiff, elegant gown or pouffy dress, Williams let her punchy personality shine through with an equally punchy lace top and shorts combo.

Hailing from Emporio Armani, the bright red pieces actually come from different looks in the spring 2017 collection. Which seems like a huge mistake on the designer’s part, because this top and bottom work perfectly together. (In fact, we thought Maisie was wearing a romper at first.)

Styled by Harriet Bycozk, the high-waisted shorts and bold lace top coordinated seamlessly with Maisie’s red satin lace-up heels.

A bright red lip in the same shade tied the fiery get-up together, creating one hot look worthy of more than a few dancing girl emojis. Though one might think this would be too much of one color, Maisie ended up not overdoing it with her minimal use of accessories. We are taking notes.

While this may not be a typical red carpet gown, it’s much better in our books. So much so that it’ll go down as one of Maisie’s best looks to date.
