Maisie Williams may have just let slip a big “Game of Thrones” spoiler
With less than a week left until we return to Westeros, Maisie Williams may have shared a Game of Thrones spoiler, and it has to do with Arya’s fate.
We’re so, so excited for Game of Thrones’ seventh season, and with the news that the finale is going to be feature-length, we’re totally ready to immerse ourselves back into the lives of Jon, Arya, Sansa, Theon, Tryion, Cersei, Daenerys, and Jaime.
Adding fuel to our fire of excitement, however, is Maisie Williams, aka Arya Stark, who has been sharing tidbits about what we can expect for her character when the show returns. Oh, and she might have accidentally let slip a MASSIVE spoiler, too.
The 20-year-old actor told the Sunday Times Style magazine that “[t]hings are looking up for Arya.”
“She gets her own way a little bit, which is nice, because she’s had such a tough journey,” she shared. “But…they’re also bittersweet at the same time. Dot, dot, dot.”
Williams’ comments come after she accidentally shared to Time how Arya would be returning for the show’s eighth and final season.
“We just finished [season] 7, so I know marginally more than viewers at home,” she revealed. “But in terms of the next season and the final season, we don’t find out anything until they release the scripts, and they usually don’t release the scripts until about a month before shooting, so I won’t know the end until the very end, really.”
Now, given that no characters’ fate on Game of Thrones is safe, it seems that Arya does actually make it through Season 7 alive. She might be one of the most beloved characters, but if we’ve learned anything from the show it’s that no one is safe (especially if your last name is Stark).
In the same interview, Williams did share what she hoped for Arya as the show continues.
“I would like her to meet with her family members again. I don’t really know how that would go down, but I would love for the Starks to be able to work together,” she said. “That’s my hope for her future. It’d be really lovely to finally share a scene because that’s what we’ve been working for for so long.”
Well, it’s not too long now until we find out Arya’s fate, along with those of her family members (well, those who are still alive, anyways).
Game of Thrones’ seventh season begins on July 16th on HBO. You can catch up on every episode of the show for free with an Xfinity subscription.
