Maisie Williams is as messed up as we are about the ‘Game of Thrones’ finale
It’s been less than 48 hours since the Game of Thrones‘ Season 5 finale, and we’re all still grappling with our feelings about it. Turns out, no one is safe. Not you, not I, and certainly not the Starks. Though the Season 5 finale saw Maisie Williams’ Arya Stark spared (but, we did hold our breath for a few seconds there) she’s pretty upset about the loss of someone else. We are, too.
Spoiler warning: In the final moments of the season, Arya’s older half-brother/adopted brother/insert your own Jon Snow theory here, is stabbed to death by his comrades. The Night Watch has turned on him, because they feel he’s turned on them (those darn wildlings!). After a few fatal blows, Jon (ALLEGEDLY) dies.
You more than likely had a shocked, sad, and confused reaction to this. Maisie did, too. During a Game of Thrones Twitter Q&A, she perfectly captures that feeling, explaining in less than 140 characters what was going through her mind during Jon’s (ALLEGED) death scene — and bonus points to her for nailing the lingo of The Wall.
Ugh, we feel your pain li’l Stark. If you need someone to talk to about it, just ask one of 8.1 million viewers who tuned into the finale.
On a much happier note, Maisie answered some other Game of Thrones related questions, like if she’s ever bored shooting (never) who’s her favorite (Ygritte) and if she could give Arya any advice, what would it be?
Still, that Jon Snow stuff hits us right in the feels. Remember how this season she couldn’t throw her sword, Needle, into the sea even though she was told to give up everything about her old life?? Jon gave her Needle! BRB, gotta go cry a little bit about that now. Is it almost time for Season 6?
