Maisie Williams says she only auditioned for “Game of Thrones” because she wanted to buy a new laptop
When Maisie Williams was 12 years old, she accepted the role of Arya Stark on Game of Thrones for the most 12-year-old reason ever, and now we adore her even more.
Williams was in desperate need/want of a new laptop, so by auditioning for GoT, her incentive was that she’d be able to afford one if she got the role.
Well, she got the role.
‘The thing I was really obsessed about was whether I would earn enough money to buy myself a laptop,” Williams told the Guardian. “My step-dad Gary just looked at me and said ‘I think there’ll be enough for a couple of laptops Maisie’.”
Now that she’s 19, and on probably the most successful drama on TV, she can buy at least 3,000 more.

‘Suddenly I could pay for my own dancing lessons and school trips, all those things my mum had always paid for. I was able to help out,’ she said.
We’re so proud of her, and we don’t even know her. We can only imagine how her parents must feel.
The sixth season of Game of Thrones returns to HBO tonight!
And WE. CAN’T. WAIT.
