Maggie Smith had a typically sassy response to Jimmy Kimmel’s Emmy joke and it’s hilarious

Sunday night’s Emmy Awards (September 18th) weren’t without their fair share of emotional, dramatic, and entertaining moments.
Scattered among them were Jimmy Kimmel’s hilarious jokes as host of the event, who, adorably, got help writing his material from his 2-year-old daughter Jane.
While Kimmel made his usual digs at Matt Damon, the TV funnyman, who lost out on the Emmy for Variety Talk Series to HBO’s John Oliver, also picked on Donald Trump, and…Dame Maggie Smith.
Yep, Jimmy Kimmel decided to go in on Maggie Smith, who, despite being nominated for nine Emmys (and winning three), has never been to the ceremony.
In his opening speech, Kimmel said that they were changing the rules for the Emmys this year.

You must be present to win. If we call your name and you're not here to accept, the Emmy goes to the next name on the list. It's called the Maggie Smith rule," he said. Continuing, he joked, "When Maggie Smith hears she's nominated for an Emmy, she has the same reaction the rest of us have when we get one of those 20 per cent off Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupons in the mail. Right in the garbage."
LOL.
"I have a message for you lame Maggie Smith," he added, "if you're even bothering to watch. If you want an Emmy, you better hop on a plane right now and get your dowager count-ass over here."
Of course, Maggie Smith went on to win the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama series for her role of the Dowager Countess in Downton Abbey and Kimmel had this hilarious response.
" "No, no, no," he chimed. "We're not mailing this to her. Maggie, if you want this, it will be in the lost and found."
This war of words was to be won, of course, by Dame Maggie Smith.

In a statement released via PBS' Masterpiece Twitter account, Dame Smith said, "I was very astonished and pleased to win the award. I feel the Emmys have been overly generous to me. If Mr. Kimmel could please direct me to the lost and found office I will try and be on the next flight. "Love, Old Maggie"
Your move Jimmy Kimmel…
