Lupita Nyong’o’s glasses just won the 2018 Oscars
Just when we thought we couldn’t love Lupita Nyong’o more, she goes and wears glasses at the 2018 Oscars. The Black Panther star (she plays the badass spy Nakia, who is also Black Panther T’Challa’s love interest) took the stage at the 90th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday night to present the Oscar for Best Production Design with The Big Sick‘s Kumail Nanjiani. The award may have gone to Shape of Water, but it was her eyeglasses that really stole the show and basically won the 2018 Oscars.
We might even consider turning off the awards. KIDDING. But seriously, the only thing better than Lupita Nyong’o is Lupita Nyong’o in glasses. She can make pretty much anything look amazing. The glasses are cat-eye style, and they’re perfection. In fact, we’re now convinced that the best Oscars outfit accessory is a pair of cat-eye glasses. They’re so sleek and smart and fantastically go with Lupita’s sparkling dress.
I mean, just look.
Fans absolutely agree and shared their thoughts via Twitter.

Aside from Nyong’o’s geek-chic look, she and Nanjiani gave a beautiful shout-out to the immigrants who make our country great.
“Like everyone in this room and everyone watching at home, we are dreamers. We grew up dreaming of one day working in the movies. Dreams are the foundation of America," the actress, who is from Kenya, said. Nanjiani, who is from Pakistan (and Iowa), added, “And to all the Dreamers out there, we stand with you."
Thank you for reminding us that glasses ARE cool and that our country is better because of Dreamers.
