Luna Lovegood explains why you definitely SHOULD audition to be in the new ‘Harry Potter’ movie
Do you ever want to achieve your dream so much, but aren’t sure you can make it a reality? It’s happened to all of us before, and that includes Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter movies. Once upon a time, she was just a girl with a dream, and decided to do something about that achieving that dream. She wanted to be an actress. She auditioned for a role. As we know, the rest of this Luna fairytale is history.
Now, she wants us to take that same leap of faith — Lynch is encouraging those with that same acting dream to audition for the latest Harry Potter movie. There’s a brand new open casting call out there for a role in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Lynch wants YOU to audition for it. Taking to her Facebook, Lynch shares a wonderful message of encouragement aimed Muggles everywhere.
As she writes, she was met with some skepticism when she first tossed around the idea of auditioning way back when, since she was “shy, awkward, too-sensitive-for-this-industry, [and] had not one professional credit to my name.” But, that didn’t stop her from trying out something new, even if it was something completely different and scary.
“I just want to encourage any girls out there who are tempted to go for this but feel like it’s impossible or bigger than you are, to put all those alleged obstacles out of your mind and just go as you, nothing more, nothing less,” she writes, “Considering the odds is a waste of time, in my opinion because no matter how many people audition, whether it’s 5 or 50,000 there’ll only be one who can play that role, like there’s only one of you.”
Lynch isn’t just hitting the nail on the head about acting auditions, but about life, too. Next time you’re faced with something impossible, forget about the obstacles standing in your way and just do it. And if your dream right now is to play the newly-announced role of Modesty in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find then, GO FOR IT.
OK, one small catch, this open casting call is for girls 8-12, and you do have to be British so maybe those are obstacles you can’t exactly overcome. But NEXT TIME you’re faced with that obstacle, and your dream is in sight, go for it. You just might find yourself at Hogwarts.
